Shruti Mundada, Parul Choudhary, Tanvi Patri Shine at National Badminton Championships

Shruti Mundada, Parul Choudhary, and Tanvi Patri caused upsets in the women’s singles pre-quarterfinals at the 87th Senior National Badminton Championships in Vijayawada. Shruti defeated Jiya Rawat, Parul overcame her opponent, and Tanvi outplayed Isharani Baruah to advance. Other top seeds like Unnati Hooda and Anupama Upadhyaya also progressed to the next round.

In the men’s singles, Aryaman Tandon surprised by defeating third seed M Raghu, while Abhinav Garg and Rithvik Sanjeevi S. also secured wins to reach the pre-quarters. Garg beat Abhinav Thakur, and Rithvik triumphed over Orijit Chaliha. Nitin Kumar and Kanika Kanwal caused an upset in the mixed doubles event by defeating the 6th seeds.

On the women’s side, top seed Unnati and others like Tanvi Sharma, Aakarshi Kashyap, and Rounak Chauhan had impressive victories to advance. Unnati and Tanvi Sharma displayed strong performances, while Aakarshi and Ashmita Chaliha also secured wins. In the men’s singles, players like Chauhan, D S Saneeth, and Sanskar Saraswat started their campaigns with notable wins.
