The ceremony, known as the “hair-parting ritual,” is the third of the sixteen sacred sanskars in Sanatan Dharma, honoring motherhood and the life within. Sonam expressed gratitude for the love, protection, and celebration of new life that the ritual symbolizes.
The Seemantonnayan ritual involves the husband parting the hair of the expectant mother to promote the fetus’s healthy development, ensure the mother’s well-being, and ward off negative energies. Sonam felt the ceremony was particularly special as it was attended by her closest friends and family members, making her feel deeply supported and cherished. She expressed heartfelt thanks to her mother, mother-in-law, and sister for organizing the event and showering her with love.
In November 2025, Sonam announced her pregnancy with her second child, sharing a photo on Instagram dressed in a vibrant hot-pink suit, cradling her growing baby bump lovingly. Sonam, who married Anand Ahuja in a lavish ceremony in May 2018, welcomed their first child, a son named Vayu, in August 2022.
