Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recognized the medalists of the World Archery Para Series in New Delhi. India emerged as the top achiever at the Bangkok 2026 World Archery Para Series, securing 13 medals, including seven gold, three silver, and three bronze. The Indian team excelled in all compound team events, showcasing a remarkable performance.
In his address, the Sports Minister commended the Indian contingent for their success at the World Archery Para Series. He emphasized that their victories not only reflect individual accomplishments but also contribute to India’s pride and honor. The Minister lauded the athletes for embodying the spirit of a progressive India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
One of the standout performances was by para-archer Payal Nag, who triumphed in the women’s compound open individual event, defeating the reigning world champion Sheetal Devi. Payal expressed her joy at winning the gold medal and highlighted the significance of India’s overall success at the event. She credited her victory to dedicated preparation and hard work following a challenging start in the trials.
Sheetal Devi, the world’s first female limbless archer, expressed her delight over India’s impressive medal haul. She emphasized the motivation gained from such achievements and meetings with dignitaries like the Sports Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
