Iconic filmmaker Steven Spielberg discussed his involvement in the 2014 film “Interstellar” before Christopher Nolan took over as director. Spielberg revealed that he spent a year working on the sci-fi epic and even had Jonathan Nolan write the initial drafts. However, Spielberg eventually decided not to direct the movie, leading to Christopher Nolan taking the helm.
Spielberg acknowledged that Nolan was the better choice to direct “Interstellar,” stating that as soon as he stepped back, Nolan stepped in and improved the movie. “Interstellar” portrays a future Earth plagued by blight and famine, following astronauts on a quest for a new habitable planet. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine.
Christopher Nolan, in a recent event with actor Timothee Chalamet, shared his excitement about joining the project after Spielberg’s departure. Nolan expressed his enthusiasm for the film’s concept and how he integrated his own ideas into the storyline. He highlighted the collaboration with Jonathan Nolan and the evolution of the movie under his direction.
