Legendary actor Sunil Dutt directed his son, Sanjay Dutt, in the debut drama “Rocky.” Sanjay shared on a talk show how his father was strict on set, likening him to ‘Hitler’ for his discipline. During a shoot in Kashmir, Sanjay faced a scolding for taking a break without permission.
“Dad was very strict. Once he had said something, you can’t just go and ask him, ‘What if I do this in a different way?’. He was like Hitler on the set,” Sanjay recalled. Sunil Dutt’s assistant directed Sanjay to eat during a break, leading to a reprimand from his father for leaving the set without permission.
In 1981, “Rocky” marked Sanjay Dutt’s acting debut and was directed by Sunil Dutt. The film, written by Bharat B. Bhalla and Dr. Rahi Masoom Reza, also featured Tina Munim, Reena Roy, and other notable actors. Sunil Dutt made a cameo appearance in the movie, with Raj Khosla taking over as director later in the production.
