The Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer has announced special voter enrolment camps to assist eligible citizens in registering for the electoral rolls. These camps will be held for four days at all polling stations in Tamil Nadu. The initiative aims to facilitate the inclusion of new names, corrections, deletions, and modifications in the voter list as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision.
The draft electoral rolls were published on December 19, with a deadline for receiving claims and objections until January 1, 2026. To make the enrolment process more convenient, special camps are scheduled for January 27, 28, February 3, and 4. Booth Level Officers and election officials will be available to guide applicants and receive completed forms during these days.
Eligible citizens, including those not listed in the draft voter roll and newly turned 18-year-olds, can apply for inclusion by submitting Form 6 with a self-declaration affidavit. Moreover, voters can raise objections or request deletions using Form 7 to ensure the accuracy of the electoral rolls. Form 8 allows residents to correct details or request changes in the Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC).
The Chief Electoral Officer urges all eligible citizens to participate in the special camps to ensure accurate voter details. Maintaining an error-free electoral roll is crucial for conducting transparent and fair elections in the state.
