The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has kickstarted its Assembly election campaign by initiating the process for party members interested in contesting the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Application forms for aspiring candidates will be distributed from February 6 to February 14, as announced by TVK’s general secretary N. Anand. This move marks the beginning of the party’s structured candidate selection process in preparation for the statewide political contest.
The party headquarters released an official statement detailing the application distribution schedule. Starting at noon on February 6, party members can obtain forms between 10 am and 6 pm on subsequent days at the headquarters. Aspiring candidates are required to complete all details accurately and submit the forms with necessary supporting documents within the specified timeframe. TVK aims to enhance internal democracy and ensure a transparent selection process by directly involving grassroots members in the candidate identification process.
TVK has expressed its intention to contest all 234 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu, demonstrating its aspiration to establish a significant political presence in the State. The party’s leadership views expanding its electoral reach as crucial in positioning itself as a viable alternative to the existing Dravidian parties. Emphasizing a broader political vision, the party highlighted the importance of gaining political power to meet the people’s expectations and drive development in Tamil Nadu.
Focusing on effective governance and people-centric policies, TVK remains committed to its core promises. The party, under its president’s leadership, is intensifying organizational efforts at the grassroots level, strengthening booth committees, and mobilizing supporters ahead of the elections. Anand emphasized that initiating the application process early will aid the party in streamlining its preparations and selecting candidates who resonate with its principles and objectives. With this development, TVK has officially entered election mode, gearing up for a spirited and competitive electoral battle in the upcoming months.
