Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has accused the BJP of having a covert agreement with BRS ahead of the municipal elections. He alleged that the BJP is receiving ‘protection money’ to defend BRS leaders implicated in various scandals.
During a public rally for the Congress party’s municipal election campaign, the Chief Minister challenged the BJP government to arrest former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and his son K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) in connection with the Kaleshwaram and Formula E race cases. Reddy questioned why the BJP has not taken action against KCR, Harish Rao, and KTR for alleged irregularities.
Reddy criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not approving the state’s request for a CBI investigation into the Kaleshwaram and Formula E race scams. He highlighted that despite a resolution passed in the Assembly and sent to the Centre, no action has been taken even after six months.
The Chief Minister also accused the BJP of neglecting the state government’s requests for approval on major development projects, including the Palamuru Rangareddy lift project, Musi project funds, and Metro Rail Phase-2. Reddy claimed that the BJP failed to allocate funds for Telangana’s development, despite promises made during visits by the party’s national leadership.
