Tension escalated at Rajasthan University when NSUI workers clashed with police during protests against a scheduled seminar linked to RSS ideology. The situation intensified as protesters tried to breach barricades at the main gate, leading to clashes with security forces. Despite heavy security measures, NSUI workers protested against the seminar, alleging its association with RSS and its impact on campus ideology.
The NSUI demanded the seminar’s immediate cancellation, warning of further protests and a boycott if it proceeds. They emphasized the importance of universities as neutral educational spaces and criticized events that disrupt the academic environment. On the other hand, ABVP supported the seminar, highlighting its focus on women’s dignity and empowerment.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alpana Kateja clarified that the auditorium was rented to a women’s organization and denied any official link between the event and RSS. The campus witnessed conflicting views as ABVP defended the seminar, labeling the protests as politically motivated and advocating for the inclusion of diverse ideologies in democratic practices.
Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully criticized the alleged imposition of RSS ideology on educational institutions, citing previous disruptions at the University of Rajasthan. He accused the BJP government of neglecting educational development in favor of appeasing RSS interests. The campus remained under tight security due to ongoing tensions between student groups.
