Thai AirAsia is expanding its network by introducing direct flights from Phuket to Chennai and Kolkata, effective October 27, 2024. This move marks a significant enhancement in the airline’s operations, connecting two major Indian cities with Thailand’s popular tourist destination.

According to Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, this new service not only broadens the airline’s international network but also strengthens its presence beyond Bangkok. The new routes aim to cater to the increasing demand for travel between Thailand and India, providing a direct and convenient option for travelers.

Klongchaiya highlighted the importance of these new routes in fostering better connectivity between Thailand and India. He emphasized that the flights would enhance tourism and business opportunities, benefiting both economies. The introduction of these direct flights is expected to facilitate easier access for both Thai travelers visiting India and Indians traveling to Thailand.

The new routes are expected to serve as a vital link between Phuket and the Indian Subcontinent, addressing the travel needs of international tourists and bolstering regional economic ties. With these additions, Thai AirAsia continues to enhance its service offerings and expand its global reach.
