Around 3,000 residents in Demak regency, Central Java province, Indonesia, have been forced to evacuate due to severe flooding. The disaster, caused by heavy rainfall in upstream areas, led to the collapse of embankments in Dukuh Solowere and Dukuh Selodoko, resulting in flooding of nearby residential areas. One person is reported missing, and a total of 1,070 households, affecting 4,280 individuals, have been impacted.

The Demak Regional Disaster Management Agency’s rapid assessment revealed that eight villages across four districts were affected by the flooding. Local authorities and emergency teams have been actively involved in evacuating residents, establishing temporary shelters, distributing sandbags to reinforce damaged embankments, and providing essential supplies and medical aid to evacuees. Search operations are ongoing to locate the missing resident.

Following a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in the Maluku region of eastern Indonesia, a 70-year-old woman from Minahasa regency in North Sulawesi was found dead after being struck by collapsing building debris. The earthquake, which struck the waters southeast of Bitung City, North Sulawesi, caused significant structural damage and triggered panic among residents. The National Disaster Mitigation Agency issued early tsunami warnings for North Maluku and North Sulawesi, although the tsunami alert was later lifted by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency.
