On the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, a significant Hindu festival, a multitude of devotees congregated at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj for a sacred dip during the ongoing Magh Mela. Despite the harsh cold, devotees from various parts of the country arrived early in the morning to partake in the ritual. Authorities ensured smooth operations and security measures at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.
The day’s spiritual importance was highlighted by a devotee who mentioned the rare occurrence of the Shravana Nakshatra aligning with Amavasya, signifying great auspiciousness. Mauni Amavasya, known for its significance in Hindu customs, involves observing silence and taking a purifying bath for spiritual cleansing and inner peace. This day holds special reverence during the Magh Mela, a significant bathing festival.
Renowned spiritual leader Shankaracharya Narendranand Saraswati also participated in the holy dip at the Sangam, emphasizing the deep spiritual significance of the ritual during Mauni Amavasya, Magh Kumbh, and Ardh Kumbh. Pilgrims expressed contentment with the arrangements despite the cold weather, emphasizing the smooth conduct of the ceremonies and the spiritual fulfillment experienced during the holy dip.
The act of showering flower petals from a helicopter added a visually captivating and spiritually enriching element to the event, receiving admiration from the devotees for enhancing the sacred ambiance.
