Three individuals lost their lives, and 14 others sustained injuries in rain-related incidents across Peshawar, Mohmand, and Nowshera districts in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. In Peshawar’s Mattani area, a child perished and two individuals were hurt when a roof collapsed, as reported by local media. Additionally, individuals were left stranded in rainwater in Mian Gujjar and Islamabad Korona regions.
A family of three members in Nowshera district’s Rahimabad area suffered injuries due to a roof collapse incident. Among the injured were two children and a woman, who were promptly taken to the Pabbi hospital for medical care. In Mohmand tribal district, two fatalities and nine injuries were reported. A girl lost her life in Shaheed Banda area when a room in her house collapsed, while five individuals were injured in a similar incident in the Karari area of Ekkaghund tehsil.
Furthermore, a man passed away in the Sra Khawa area of Baizai subdivision after a room collapsed following heavy rainfall. Rescue officials noted that four individuals were injured in a roof collapse incident in Dawezai Dawat Kor area of tehsil Pindiali in Mohmand district. Record rainfall has caused significant damage in Mohmand tribal district, with 151 millimeters of rain recorded in 2026, surpassing the previous record set in 2013.
The incessant rainfall has led to the inundation of low-lying areas and swollen seasonal streams, resulting in the destruction of hundreds of houses and boundary walls. Roads in various tehsils have been washed away, hampering rescue operations and isolating residents. Livestock losses and destruction of standing crops have also been reported, causing financial setbacks to the affected population.
