Three individuals lost their lives, and four others suffered severe injuries in a tragic road accident involving a truck and a car near Kinara intersection, close to Ranpur town in Gujarat’s Botad district. The collision occurred on the Ranpur-Dhandhuka highway when a speeding truck collided head-on with a car transporting agricultural laborers from Madhya Pradesh. The impact was so intense that the car was completely destroyed, with its parts scattered across the road.
Local residents and passersby promptly responded to the scene after the accident, initiating rescue operations. Some occupants of the car were trapped inside the severely damaged vehicle and had to be rescued by breaking through the metal body. Authorities, including the police, the mamlatdar, and multiple 108 ambulance units, arrived at the site swiftly upon receiving notification of the incident.
The injured individuals were initially taken to a nearby hospital and later transferred to Bhavnagar for further medical care due to the gravity of their injuries. Police have reported that the condition of some of the injured remains critical. The deceased victims, who were from the same laborer family, have undergone post-mortem examinations, and their families have been informed of the tragic incident.
A case has been registered by the Ranpur police, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. Initial assessments suggest that excessive speed and negligence may have contributed to the collision. The collision resulted in a temporary traffic jam on the highway, which was subsequently cleared by the police. Legal actions have been taken against the truck driver in accordance with the ongoing investigation.
