Three overground workers (OGWs) of terrorists have been detained in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, as per the police. The individuals, identified as Owais Ahmad Lone, Mashooq Ahmad Shah, and Subzar Ahmad Gani, were found repeatedly involved in activities threatening the state’s security. Despite prior actions taken against them, they continued engaging in unlawful activities, leading to their detention under the Public Safety Act.
The detained OGWs were taken into custody and lodged at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, following the issuance of detention orders by the District Magistrate, Shopian. Shopian police emphasized its dedication to maintaining peace and security by taking strict actions against those posing threats to the state’s security in accordance with the law.
J&K Police and security forces have been conducting aggressive operations against terrorists, their OGWs, sympathizers, drug smugglers, and individuals involved in unlawful activities. These efforts aim to dismantle the support system of terrorism, with police also seizing properties of those linked to terrorism and drug smuggling through court orders.
