He acknowledged his offense and accepted the penalty imposed by the match referee. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians’ captain, Hardik Pandya, was fined Rs12 lakh for a slow over-rate during the same game, marking MI’s first offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured an 18-run victory over Mumbai Indians in Match 20 of the IPL. Phil Salt and Rajat Patidar’s aggressive batting, along with Virat Kohli’s contribution, propelled RCB to a challenging total of 240/4 in 20 overs. Despite a valiant effort by Mumbai Indians, including Sherfane Rutherford’s late heroics, they fell short of the target, finishing at 222/5 in 20 overs.
RCB’s victory in this match elevated them to the third spot in the points table with six points, following Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings.
