A tragic road accident in Bihar’s Madhepura resulted in the deaths of three young friends when their car plunged into a river. The incident occurred near the Arar Bridge under the Arar police station limits as the friends were returning from a Ram Navami fair in Gwalpara block. The driver lost control of the car around 1 A.M., causing it to crash into a pole and fall into the Sursar River.

The SHO of Arar Police Station confirmed that out of the four friends in the car, three lost their lives in the accident. The deceased individuals have been identified as Ghanshyam Kumar (28), Ankit Kumar (26), and Vasant Kumar (23). One person is still missing, and search operations are ongoing with the involvement of SDRF teams, local police, and residents to locate the fourth youth.

Police, upon receiving the information, reached the accident site promptly and, with the assistance of locals, retrieved the bodies and recovered the vehicle from the river. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. The families of the victims are devastated, and a sense of deep sorrow lingers in Madhepura and surrounding areas.

The victims, who were close friends, had attended the Ram Navami fair together before the tragic incident. The exact cause of the accident remains uncertain at this time. While initial reports suggest the driver may have lost control near the Arar Bridge, authorities have highlighted that a conclusive determination is pending. Police have mentioned that a detailed investigation is required to ascertain the actual cause, which could involve overspeeding, road conditions, driver fatigue, intoxication, or other factors.
