The Trinamool Congress has written to Calcutta High Court Chief Justice Sujoy Paul, urging that in cases of “logical discrepancy” in West Bengal, rejected candidates should be informed of the grounds for rejection by the judicial officers. The party emphasized the importance of rejected individuals knowing the reasons for their rejection to prepare for appealing at the Appellate Tribunals.
The party also urged Justice Paul to promptly announce the notification for offline appeals and suggested that appeals be accepted not only at district magistrates’ and sub-divisional officers’ offices but also at block development officers’ offices. This decentralization would facilitate easier filing of appeals, especially for a large number of voters.
Additionally, the Trinamool Congress requested that voters filing appeals be allowed to represent themselves or through authorized representatives, have a chance for a physical or virtual hearing before the Tribunal, and receive timely communication about the hearing dates.
