Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen, a four-time MLA, passed away in Bengaluru after a prolonged medical treatment. His final rites will be conducted in his hometown Dharmanagar with full state honors. The late Sen’s mortal remains were brought back to Agartala, where people paid their respects at the Tripura Legislative Assembly premises.
Leaders including Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Manik Saha, and others paid homage to Sen. Troopers of the Tripura State Rifles honored him with a final salute. Sen’s death has deeply saddened political leaders in Tripura, with many acknowledging his contributions as a seasoned politician and Assembly Speaker.
Chief Minister Saha expressed profound grief over Sen’s demise, highlighting his efficiency and fairness in conducting Assembly proceedings. The Tripura government has declared three days of state mourning in honor of Sen. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other leaders have also expressed condolences over his passing.
