Truecaller, the renowned Sweden-based platform specializing in contact verification and call blocking, has announced the launch of its AI-Powered Call Recording feature in India. Available for both iOS and Android users, the new feature enables recording of incoming and outgoing calls directly within the Truecaller app, aiming to streamline user experience and facilitate efficient management of important conversations, according to the company’s statement.
Accessible through Truecaller’s Premium subscription, the AI Call Recording feature boasts advanced cloud-based recording technology ensuring high voice clarity. Users can now record and transcribe calls in English and Hindi, catering to diverse personal and professional needs. Initially introduced in English-speaking markets like the US, the service is slated to expand to more markets and languages, Truecaller revealed.
Leveraging artificial intelligence, the feature offers detailed call transcriptions and AI-generated summaries, enabling users to fully engage in conversations without the need for note-taking. Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Managing Director of Truecaller India and Chief Product Officer of Truecaller, expressed enthusiasm about the new feature, citing user demand and its value for both personal and professional use.
For iPhone users, initiating call recording is as simple as tapping within the Truecaller app, with recordings stored locally or backed up on iCloud. Android users, on the other hand, will have access to a dedicated recording button or a ‘floating’ button for other diallers, complemented by notifications alerting users of completed recordings and transcriptions.
