Two individuals were fatally shot, and another was seriously injured during a land dispute in Rasalpur village, Patna. The deceased are identified as 50-year-old Rajwanti Devi and 55-year-old Devsagar Singh. They were taken to the hospital but succumbed to their injuries and blood loss.
The clash arose over a minor land disagreement involving just two inches of land between two brothers, Shravan Prasad and Rajkumar Yadav, as per Jitendra Kumar, son of Rajwanti Devi. He recounted that the dispute had persisted for years.
Rajan Prasad, another victim, is currently receiving medical treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). The accused fled the scene after the shooting incident, leading to tension and fear in the village.
Residents are calling for strict action against the perpetrators and fair compensation for the victims’ families. Police presence has been increased in the village to maintain peace and prevent any further disturbances.
Rural SP Kundan Kumar, accompanied by law enforcement, has arrived at the scene to start an investigation. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the suspects. The authorities have recovered two pistols, a sword, and spent cartridges from the crime scene.
The police assured that a thorough investigation is ongoing, and those responsible will face severe consequences. Although the situation is currently under control, a sense of unease lingers in the area.
