In a tragic incident on Ranipur Road in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district, two young men lost their lives, and four others, including a 14-year-old child, were seriously injured when an SUV crashed into the boundary wall of a marriage garden. The accident, which occurred around 12:30 a.m., involved a speeding SUV en route from Sarni to Betul on the Sarni State Highway.
The impact of the crash, attributed to slippery road conditions caused by rain, led to a large section of the boundary wall collapsing as the driver lost control. The deceased individuals were identified as Prafull Thoke (25) and Puneet Thakre (25), while the injured included Pappu Mohan (23), Prajapati Raju (26), Abhishek (26), and Sangam (14), all residents of Betul’s Arjun Nagar area.
Eyewitnesses promptly took the injured to Betul’s district hospital for treatment, where some are reported to be in critical condition. The police have launched a detailed investigation into the accident, citing excessive speed and wet road conditions as likely contributing factors. The SUV involved was reportedly linked to a government office.
Authorities emphasized the need for drivers to exercise caution, especially during adverse weather conditions, to prevent such tragic incidents. Police sources highlighted the increasing frequency of accidents on this road due to high-speed driving, particularly at night and during rainy conditions.
