Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, UAE’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has arrived in New Delhi for the second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. The Ministry of External Affairs welcomed the UAE leader, emphasizing that his visit will enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE. Foreign Ministers from Libya, Somalia, and Qatar have also arrived in New Delhi for the meeting, aiming to strengthen bilateral partnerships with India.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged in discussions with League of Arab States Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit to bolster cooperation across various sectors. Following their meeting, Jaishankar highlighted the importance of cooperation and exchanged views on regional developments. Additionally, Jaishankar held separate meetings with Foreign Ministers from Comoros, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Palestine to deepen collaboration in various sectors.
India is hosting the second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, with participation from Arab League Member States and the Arab League Secretary General. The meeting aims to build on existing cooperation and expand partnerships, focusing on key areas such as economy, energy, education, media, and culture. The meeting serves as a significant institutional mechanism to drive the India-Arab partnership, formalized through an MoU signed in 2002 between India and the League of Arab States.
