The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has agreed to collaborate with Telangana for the advancement of Bharat Future City as a leading global city, as per the Telangana government. UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri met with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Al Marri expressed his government’s willingness to work with Telangana and proposed the formation of a joint task force for the swift execution of the project.
The discussions between the two parties focused on potential areas of partnership in the state’s significant infrastructure initiatives, particularly the Bharat Future City. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, aiming to elevate the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He highlighted the extensive development opportunities within the Bharat Future City project, which is envisioned as India’s first Net-Zero Greenfield Smart City spanning 30,000 acres.
Revanth Reddy emphasized the involvement of global entities like Marubeni and Semcorp in the project. Notably, an MoU was recently signed with Reliance Group’s Vantara for a new zoo in Future City. Additionally, Saudi-based industrial conglomerate Expertise has shown interest in collaborating with Telangana’s Young India Skills University (YISU). The President & CEO of Expertise, Mohammed Ashif, engaged with the Telangana delegation, expressing intentions to partner with YISU for recruiting approximately 5,000 skilled individuals annually.
The Telangana government also revealed Google’s interest in collaborating with the state to address agricultural and climate change concerns. Discussions included the issue of excessive fertilizer use and the necessity for farmer education. Chief Minister Reddy stressed the importance of taking proactive measures to tackle soil and farming challenges.
