Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V. Somanna criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, alleging misuse of power for personal gain, leading to neglect of Karnataka’s welfare. He highlighted failures in responding to farmers’ issues, with 2,809 farmer deaths in three years despite crop price support announcements.
Somanna also pointed out over 2.5 lakh vacant jobs and lack of flood relief funds in North Karnataka, alongside a looming drinking water crisis. He criticized the government for corruption, nepotism, and mismanagement, accusing it of ignoring infrastructure needs and moral responsibilities.
The Union Minister emphasized the need to expose the state government’s alleged corruption, arrogance, and divisive tactics during the ongoing bypolls. He raised concerns about the state’s utilization of funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission and highlighted irregularities in job card issuance and fund usage.
Accusing the state government of inefficiency and indifference, Somanna claimed that various state projects have been halted, affecting overall development and livelihood improvement efforts.
