Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, stated that the saffron wave is inevitable in the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana. Responding to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Kumar emphasized the growing influence of the saffron wave and hinted at a shared political narrative between Reddy and Asaduddin Owaisi.
Kumar further alleged a controversial deal for the Karimnagar mayor post, insinuating an understanding with AIMIM. He criticized the lack of financial support from the Telangana Chief Minister to local governing bodies, aside from central funds, during the past two years.
In addition, Kumar criticized the Congress government’s unfulfilled promises and highlighted the lack of civic amenities in newly established municipalities. He also questioned the delay in the phone-tapping case investigation and criticized the CM’s inaction against key suspects.
State BJP chief N. Ramchander Rao condemned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s statements, attributing them to the Congress party’s anxiety over BJP’s growing popularity in Telangana. Rao emphasized the significant financial support provided by the BJP-led Central Government to Telangana and urged the Congress government to address its unfulfilled commitments.
