Union Minister of Jal Shakti C.R. Paatil highlighted the crucial role of entrepreneurs and traders in India’s development. He stressed the industrial sector’s significance in driving economic growth and job creation. Paatil commended the measures introduced in the Union Budget 2026–27 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enhance ease of doing business, including a streamlined single-window system to support industrial expansion.
Paatil made these remarks during a Trader and Business Dialogue focused on the Union Budget 2026–27. He noted that India, under Prime Minister Modi, has progressed to become the world’s fourth-largest economy, moving towards the third position. The Minister mentioned that economic growth has resulted in increased incomes, with recent adjustments in the income tax structure providing relief to citizens.
Furthermore, Paatil underlined the importance of agriculture and industry, citing government initiatives such as the Kisan Samman Nidhi program to support farmers. He credited Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for Rajasthan’s advancements in water self-sufficiency, mentioning the allocation of over Rs 77,000 crore for the revised Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP).
Paatil expressed optimism that Rajasthan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, will emerge as a leader in water availability, facilitating further industrial growth. He also highlighted the construction of more than 415,000 water structures nationwide under the “Karmabhoomi Se Matrubhoomi” campaign, with a focus on water conservation efforts in Rajasthan involving migrant workers.
Since 2014, India has witnessed significant progress under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, advancing to the fourth position in the global economy from the eleventh, surpassing countries like Britain and Japan. Paatil mentioned the potential benefits for traders in the state from the recent India-US trade agreement, along with improvements in welfare schemes reaching beneficiaries, enhanced internal security, and expanded global influence for India.
