Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, will spearhead the festivities commemorating the 25th Foundation Day of the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) in New Delhi. The event, to be held at Vishwa Yuva Kendra, will honor successful Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs. Established in 2001, NSTFDC plays a crucial role in fostering economic growth among Scheduled Tribes nationwide by providing financial aid through State Channelising Agencies for income-generating ventures.
Durga Das Uikey, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, and Ranjana Chopra, Secretary of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, will also participate in the event alongside former CMDs, senior officials, and esteemed guests. CMD T. Roumuan Paite is expected to highlight the achievements of thriving Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs supported by NSTFDC, showcasing sustainable businesses across various sectors like traditional cuisine, healthcare, poultry, dairy, handicrafts, fisheries, retail, and tailoring.
The celebration will showcase cultural performances, including tribal dances and a street play, reflecting the rich heritage of tribal communities. Ministry officials overseeing the event express excitement for the grand celebration, anticipating the presence of dignitaries and stakeholders to commemorate NSTFDC’s 25 years of dedicated service towards tribal empowerment and inclusive growth, particularly benefiting marginalized communities.
