Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy visited the home of a 24-year-old woman named Pooja in Hullalli village, Mysuru. Pooja, bedridden due to severe health issues, gained attention after a video of her condition circulated on social media. Kumaraswamy spent time with Pooja and her family, offering support and comfort.
During the visit, Kumaraswamy gathered information about the family’s situation from various local sources. He acknowledged the efforts of a youth named Chetan who shared the video to raise awareness. The woman’s family, facing financial struggles, received immediate financial aid for medical expenses from the minister.
Moved by their hardships, Kumaraswamy promised to arrange a leased house for the family and enlisted local leaders to oversee the process. He also intervened in the case of Pooja’s husband, injured in a bus accident, to ensure compensation. The minister directed officials to provide a small shop for the family’s livelihood and pledged support for the education of their children.
Several political leaders, including MLA Harish Gowda and MLC Manjegowda, accompanied Kumaraswamy during the visit. The minister, along with his wife, also visited religious sites in the area, praying for the state’s well-being.
