Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Shobha Karandlaje, emphasized the significance of women’s reservation, considering it a historic decision. Speaking at an event, she lauded PM Modi for enhancing women’s roles by advocating for 33% reservation for women in Parliament. Karandlaje highlighted the Prime Minister’s efforts in empowering women across various sectors, including education, the economy, defense, and now political participation.
Bharatiya Janata Party State President B.Y. Vijayendra echoed the importance of social justice for women in achieving India’s development goals by 2047. He commended PM Modi’s strides towards ensuring political representation for women through reservations. Vijayendra expressed anticipation for the realization of the long-awaited 33% reservation in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, emphasizing the need for inclusive growth and empowerment of women in rural areas.
Various dignitaries, including Padma Shri awardee Dr. Vijayalakshmi Deshmane and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, were present at the event, endorsing the government’s commitment to implement women’s reservation.
