Union Minister for Communication Jyotiraditya Scindia met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi to discuss key projects enhancing road connectivity in the Gwalior–Chambal region and other parts of Madhya Pradesh. They reviewed projects like the Gwalior–Agra Expressway and the Gwalior Western Bypass, worth ₹4,822 crore and ₹1,347 crore, respectively.
The meeting also addressed the construction of a four-lane road on the Gwalior–Bhind–Etawah National Highway (NH-719). Notably, local residents and religious leaders had expressed concerns about delays and road accidents on this route. Scindia suggested transferring the project to the National Highways Authority of India for faster execution.
Scindia announced that once approval is granted in April, the NHAI will promptly begin the tendering process and accelerate construction work. Discussions also covered proposals for new roads in regions like Pichhore, Shivpuri, Mungaoli, Ashoknagar, and Chanderi, aiming to improve transportation and boost local economic activities in the Gwalior–Chambal area.
