Union Health Minister JP Nadda will conduct bhoomi pujan for new medical colleges in Dhar and Betul on December 23 to enhance healthcare services in underserved areas, announced Rakesh Singh, Minister for Public Works Department. Additionally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Gwalior and Rewa on December 25 for the Abhyuday Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit, marking his inaugural participation. During a state cabinet meeting, it was revealed that Shah will issue letters of intent to investors committing a total of Rs 2 lakh crore. He will also virtually inaugurate Gwalior Mela and oversee Krishi and Kisan Sammelan, along with visits to Gau Vansh and Vanya Bihar. Notable infrastructure developments include the four-laning of the 65 km Barwah-Dhamnod road under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM/HEM scheme) by MPRDC, with the project costing Rs 2,500 crore and the state contributing Rs 900 crore over 15 years (60% share). The project aims to increase vehicle speeds from 25-30 km/h to 100 km/h upon completion. Furthermore, the cabinet has approved Rs 197 crore for a law university and Rs 434 crore (state share Rs 147 crore) for a Weather Information Network, featuring automatic rain gauges in every village panchayat and advanced systems at tehsil levels to support crop insurance and data collection. The Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana, focusing on cow conservation and rural self-reliance, has been introduced, with villages having at least 2,000 population and 500 cows eligible to participate. Madhya Pradesh is witnessing a series of development initiatives across various sectors, including urban expansion, healthcare, rural schemes, infrastructure, and education, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Singh also highlighted the inauguration of the Bhopal Metro Rail’s priority corridor for Indore by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar, with approval granted for a 3.3-km underground metro stretch to address congestion and enhance connectivity in dense areas. The Bhopal Metropolitan Region (BMR) map has been released, covering a 12,099 sq km area with 12 urban areas, 30 tehsils, and 2,524 villages across districts like Bhopal, Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, Rajgarh, and Narmadapuram (formerly Hoshadabad). These developments underscore Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to balanced urban-rural growth, connectivity, and welfare.
