The romantic entertainer ‘Maayabimbum – A 2005 love story’, directed by K J Surendar and starring Aakash and Janaki, is scheduled to hit screens on January 23 this year. Produced by K.J. Surendar under Self Start Productions, the film also features actors Hari Krishnan, Rajesh, and Arun Kumar in significant roles.
Director K.J. Surendar shared that the film draws inspiration from a real-life incident, now transformed into a full-fledged feature film. Set in 2005, the movie aims to offer a fresh perspective on love, particularly appealing to the younger audience, evoking a sense of nostalgia for those born in the nineties.
The storyline, centered on the romantic bond between a third-year medical college student and a nurse in a primary health center, unfolds against the backdrop of Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Pudukkottai, and Thanjavur. The film boasts music by Nanda, editing by Vinoth, and cinematography by newcomer Edwin, with lyrics penned by Viveka and Padmavathi.
Emphasizing the film’s emotional and romantic depth, the director highlighted its focus on friendship and family values, expressing confidence in the compelling narrative. The track ‘Yenkkulae’ from the movie, recently launched by G V Prakash Kumar and Vani Bhojan, has garnered praise from both the renowned personalities.
Renowned director Sundar C, who unveiled the film’s first look poster, commended the team for their work and vision.
