Amid discussions on Bihar’s government formation, Upendra Kushwaha, the leader of Rashtriya Lok Morcha, stated that Nitish Kumar, who secured a Rajya Sabha seat, may not continue as Chief Minister. Kushwaha mentioned that the timing of Kumar’s resignation would be his choice. He indicated that a new leader would be selected by Janata Dal-United, ensuring governance continuity under the ‘Nitish Model’.
Kushwaha dismissed rumors of NDA discord, affirming unity among all allies. He praised Mahatma Jyotiba Phule for empowering marginalized groups and advocating women’s education. Noting Phule’s impact on women’s education, Kushwaha announced year-long celebrations for Phule’s 200th birth anniversary by Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
Responding to JD-U’s internal discussions on Nitish Kumar’s son as Chief Minister, Kushwaha considered it a party matter. He humorously mentioned his readiness to engage with Nitish Kumar in legislative matters. Nitish Kumar, who recently joined the Rajya Sabha, is anticipated to step down as Bihar Chief Minister soon.
