US Congressman Ro Khanna has requested King Charles III to meet with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse during the King’s upcoming visit to the United States. Khanna sees this as a crucial step towards holding Epstein’s powerful global network accountable. He emphasized the importance of hearing the survivors’ stories and concerns as part of seeking justice.
Khanna, who co-authored the Epstein Files Transparency Act, highlighted the survivors’ desire for such a meeting. He stressed the need for survivors to directly address how powerful individuals and institutions failed them. Recent developments in the UK have raised questions about the conduct of individuals and institutions associated with Epstein and his network.
Referring to the King’s call for a thorough investigation, Khanna pointed out the seriousness of the concerns surrounding Epstein’s network. He noted the broader questions raised by Epstein’s connections to Britain through figures like Ghislaine Maxwell and British public figures. Efforts by members of Congress to obtain testimony from Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelson regarding their ties to Epstein were also mentioned.
Khanna suggested that a meeting between the King and survivors could potentially reveal additional information that British institutions and individuals might share. Such a meeting, he believes, would ensure transparency, seriousness, and accountability in addressing these matters. Khanna made the request with full respect for the significance of the King’s visit.
