US Presidential Scholars 2024: Celebrating 161 Top High School Seniors

In a momentous announcement on May 9, US Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona revealed the names of 161 high school seniors selected for the 60th anniversary of the US Presidential Scholars program. “The 161 high school seniors selected for the 60th anniversary of the US Presidential Scholars represent the best of our nation’s schools and inspire hope in the bright future of this country,” said Cardona, celebrating their achievements and encouraging them to continue aiming high and leading with integrity.

Annually chosen by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars, these students are recognized for their academic success, excellence in the arts and technical education, community service, and leadership. Established in 1964, the program has honored over 8,200 of the nation’s top-performing students, expanding in 1979 to include arts students and again in 2015 to recognize achievements in career and technical education.

The 2024 Presidential Scholars will be honored this summer in an online recognition program.
