The Uttar Pradesh government is actively working to maintain a steady supply of petrol, diesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) while cracking down on black marketing. Authorities have conducted over 17,000 raids since March 12 to prevent illegal activities and hoarding. Several cases have resulted in arrests and the initiation of prosecution proceedings against those involved in irregularities.
The government has reassured the public that the supply situation is normal, with ample stocks of petrol and diesel available in the state. Uttar Pradesh currently has around 12,888 operational petrol pumps, ensuring sufficient fuel availability. Additionally, the LPG supply remains satisfactory, with cylinders being delivered promptly to consumers through a network of gas distributors.
To further enhance the gas distribution network, the government has expedited permissions for piped natural gas connections. An additional 20% allocation of commercial LPG cylinders has been approved by the Central Government to alleviate pressure on domestic supply. Strict monitoring measures, including a 24-hour control room and district-level control rooms, have been implemented to oversee the supply chain continuously.
District Supply Officers and local authorities are conducting regular inspections to prevent delays or harassment in fuel and gas cylinder deliveries. The government has emphasized its commitment to taking stringent action against black marketing and hoarding to maintain an uninterrupted supply chain. With these proactive steps and continuous monitoring, citizens are assured that there is an abundant supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG in Uttar Pradesh.
