The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has initiated the Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan to empower girls through schools. Scheduled from April 16 to 20, the campaign aims to enhance confidence, leadership, and awareness among female students. Various activities will take place in council schools and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas during this five-day initiative.
Under this campaign, efforts will focus on instilling self-confidence, social engagement, and leadership qualities in girls from a young age. The Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan will kick off on April 16 as Nari Shakti Vandan Diwas, honoring parents of girls with over 70% attendance in council schools. Additionally, in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, a Nari Shakti Human Chain will be formed by girl students and female teachers.
Physical and mental development will be the highlight on April 17, featuring yoga sessions, sports competitions, and discipline-based programs. Activities like self-defense demonstrations and cultural performances are planned to showcase discipline, bravery, and talent among the girls. On April 20, the focus will shift to creativity and intellectual expression, with competitions in essay writing, poetry, and debates under the theme “Empowered Women, Prosperous India.”
The government’s objective is to nurture leadership skills, self-expression, and self-reliance among female students through these diverse activities. Schools are mandated to ensure the successful execution of the campaign at all levels. The five-day Abhiyan is anticipated to raise awareness and motivate girls in Uttar Pradesh to aspire for greater achievements and contribute positively to society.
