Actor Varun Badola highlighted the growing acknowledgment of character artists in the entertainment industry, particularly due to the surge in OTT platforms and social media. He emphasized that many talented actors who do not fit the traditional lead role mold are now receiving the credit they deserve, thanks to the opportunities provided by OTT and social media platforms.

Badola expressed his views on the evolving trend during an exclusive conversation, noting that OTT platforms have revolutionized the industry by offering substantial roles to actors beyond the star-centric narratives. He pointed out that social media also plays a vital role in amplifying the recognition of lesser-known actors, turning them into household names through memes and reels.

Discussing the impact of platforms like OTT on the film industry, Badola cited examples like the movie “Dhurandhar,” directed by Aditya Dhar and featuring Ranveer Singh, to illustrate how content-driven films are gaining prominence over star-driven projects. He highlighted that such films provide a platform for actors like Rakesh Bedi to finally receive the acknowledgment they have long awaited, even propelling lesser-known characters to widespread popularity.
