Veer Ahlawat and Shubhankar Sharma successfully made the halfway cut in the 2026 Magical Kenya Open. Ahlawat, with a strong performance of 67-67, secured a 6-under score to be positioned well at T-28th after two rounds. Meanwhile, Sharma’s impressive 5-under 65, including six birdies and one bogey, allowed him to squeeze into the cut line at 4-under, placing him at T-55. Ahlawat, in his second round, recorded five birdies against two bogeys.
Yuvraj Sandhu, however, missed out on the cut with scores of 69-71. Frederic Lacroix and Casey Jarvis shared the halfway lead with Lacroix shooting a remarkable second-round 62, putting them at 13 under par and holding a two-shot lead over the field. This performance aimed to shift the focus from Kenya’s Njoroge Kibugu, who pleased the home crowd by making the cut with an eagle on the last hole.
Jarvis’ fellow South African, Hennie Du Plessis, delivered a stunning 61 to share third place with Spain’s Angel Ayora and Portugal’s Ricardo Gouveia. Lacroix, after finishing his opening round with an eagle, continued his strong play with four birdies before and after the turn for a brilliant 62. Gouveia showcased a bogey-free 65, while Ayora matched that score with seven birdies, expressing confidence in his game.
In another event, all three Indian-origin players successfully made the halfway cut at the Genesis Invitational, the second Signature event of the PGA Tour season. Aaron Rai, Akshay Bhatia, and Sahith Theegala put up solid performances to advance in the tournament. Rai, after an impressive first round, continued his form to be Tied-12th, while Bhatia and Theegala secured positions at T-21 and Tied-33rd, respectively.
At The Riviera Country Club, Marco Penge and Jacob Bridgeman finished strongly with 7-under 64s, placing them at the top alongside Rory McIlroy. Penge, leading from the DP World Tour, showcased exceptional play with five birdies in his final seven holes, while Bridgeman birdied his last three holes to join Penge at the lead. McIlroy, with consistent performances of 66-65, had only one bogey through 36 holes, a significant improvement from his previous tournament.
