A Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) is set to take place in Surat on May 1 and 2, coinciding with Gujarat Foundation Day. The event aims to attract targeted industrial investments to South and Central Gujarat and align with the ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ vision. Organized under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the conference seeks to strengthen regional industrial ecosystems by connecting local industries with global markets.
The two-day conference will cover 16 districts, including Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad, among others. It will focus on promoting innovation and facilitating strategic investments in various sectors such as chemicals, textiles, gems and jewellery, pharmaceuticals, green energy ecosystems, and information technology. Additionally, the event will host sector-specific seminars to explore opportunities in aerospace, defence, fintech, and biotechnology.
In conjunction with the conference, a Vibrant Gujarat Regional Exhibition (VGRE) will be held, featuring a vendor development program and entrepreneur meets. The initiative aims to provide local entrepreneurs with international exposure and foster business linkages. The outcomes of the conference will be presented at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, highlighting the state’s growth story and strategic investments.
Similar regional conferences have been previously conducted in North Gujarat and the Saurashtra-Kutch region, with the latter witnessing participation from partner countries like Japan, South Korea, Rwanda, and Ukraine. The upcoming VGRC in Surat is expected to further enhance core industries in South and Central Gujarat, contributing to the state’s overall development trajectory.
