Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan has arrived in Jammu and Kashmir for a two-day visit. His plane landed at Srinagar Airport, where he was welcomed by top officials including Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Radhakrishnan will be staying at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar during his visit.
Security measures have been heightened in anticipation of the Vice President’s visit. Traffic advisories have been issued to ensure smooth movement of his convoy, with alternative routes designated for commuters.
The Vice President’s itinerary includes attending the 21st convocation of the University of Kashmir as the chief guest. This marks Radhakrishnan’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since assuming office. The University’s Chancellor, Lt Governor, and Pro-Chancellor, Chief Minister, will also be present at the event.
Authorities have set up checkpoints and intensified vehicle checks in various locations to maintain security during the Vice President’s visit. Motorists have been advised to follow specific alternative routes to avoid disruptions in traffic flow. Security forces are on high alert to ensure a safe visit for the VVIP.
