Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan highlighted the potential of meditation in addressing today’s global challenges by promoting peace, clarity, and understanding. Speaking at the Global Conference of Meditation Leaders in New Delhi, he stressed the importance of mental well-being alongside economic growth for a prosperous nation. Radhakrishnan noted that meditation fosters inner calm, emotional balance, and clear thinking, essential for personal and national progress.
The conference, themed “Meditation for Holistic Living and a Peaceful World,” was organized by the Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement and the Buddha-CEO Quantum Foundation. Radhakrishnan emphasized that meditation has the power to transform individuals, reducing stress, enhancing focus, and building emotional resilience. He cautioned against prioritizing material success over meaningful living, advocating for a balanced approach that includes meditation for enriched thinking and fulfillment.
The Vice-President dismissed the misconception that meditation is solely for spiritual seekers, asserting its universal benefits for elevating ordinary individuals to higher consciousness. Drawing from the teachings of Thirumoolar, a revered Tamil sage, Radhakrishnan likened meditation to illuminating an inner lamp that dispels ignorance, leading to truth and peace. He also shared his commitment to combating drug abuse, highlighting meditation as a potent tool to address addiction by helping individuals overcome stress, anxiety, and lack of direction.
