With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching on April 23, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Joseph Vijay is gearing up to speak at a significant public gathering in Kanyakumari district. Scheduled for tomorrow, the rally will focus on supporting TVK candidates contesting in six Assembly constituencies, including Kanyakumari, Nagercoil, Colachel, Vilavancode, Killiyoor, and Padmanabhapuram.
The main event will be held at the Vivekananda College Ground near Kanyakumari, where a large turnout of supporters is anticipated. Despite initial requests for an extended duration, authorities have restricted the rally to six hours, from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M., due to the Election Commission’s campaigning deadline of April 21.
As campaigning intensifies across Tamil Nadu, political leaders like DMK President M.K. Stalin and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami are actively engaging with voters through public meetings and roadshows. Naam Tamilar Katchi’s chief coordinator Seeman is also rallying support for his party’s candidates by touring various regions.
In preparation for Vijay’s visit, senior TVK state executive members Anand and Sengottaiyan are overseeing arrangements in Kanyakumari district, focusing on security measures, stage setup, and logistical planning at the venue. Vijay’s rally in Kanyakumari is crucial for TVK’s campaign strategy, especially in southern Tamil Nadu, as the election battle reaches its final stages.
