West Bengal BJP President, Samik Bhattacharya, criticized the Trinamool Congress-led state government for alleged misdeeds and misrule during its 15-year tenure. He expressed support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that corrupt Trinamool leaders in West Bengal will face consequences post-May 4, following the Assembly election results.
Bhattacharya emphasized the need to hold those responsible for corruption in the state to account. He highlighted the alleged exploitation of the public by the Trinamool Congress over the past decade and a half. Additionally, he accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of betraying the trust of the people.
Echoing Bhattacharya’s sentiments, BJP candidate Jitendra Nath Tiwari stated that the people of West Bengal are eagerly anticipating a change in government. Tiwari welcomed PM Modi’s stance and drew parallels with historical consequences for wrongdoing. Attendees at PM Modi’s rally in Asansol expressed support for the BJP’s bid to replace the Trinamool Congress in power.
