Empowering Women Through Innovation and Patriotism

On April 22, 2025, a group of 23 dedicated women students from the Department of Printing Technology at Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, achieved a remarkable feat by creating the world’s largest screen-printed Indian national flag. Measuring an impressive 18 x 12 feet, this monumental flag has been officially recognized by Kalam’s World Records, highlighting the students’ commitment to excellence and national pride.

A Testament to Skill and Teamwork

The project was a collaborative effort that showcased the students’ proficiency in printing technology. Utilizing the institute’s state-of-the-art facilities, including an in-house printing unit and advanced equipment for recycled paper and ceramic mug printing, the team meticulously crafted the tricolor flag. This achievement not only demonstrates their technical skills but also their ability to work cohesively towards a common goal.

Fostering Women’s Empowerment in Technical Fields

Avinashilingam Institute has long been a pioneer in promoting women’s education, particularly in fields traditionally dominated by men. The Department of Printing Technology offers comprehensive training that equips students with the necessary skills to excel in the printing industry. With a strong emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship, the institute boasts a 100% placement record, reflecting its success in empowering women and promoting sustainable development.

Inspiring a Nation

The creation of the world’s largest screen-printed Indian flag serves as a powerful symbol of unity and patriotism. It stands as a testament to what can be achieved through dedication, innovation, and teamwork. This accomplishment is expected to inspire other institutions and individuals to pursue excellence and contribute positively to society.

Key Highlights:
  • Record-Breaking Flag: The screen-printed Indian flag measures 18 x 12 feet, setting a new world record.
  • Team Effort: 23 women students collaborated on the project, showcasing exceptional teamwork and technical skills.
  • Official Recognition: The achievement has been recognized by Kalam’s World Records, a prestigious platform celebrating outstanding accomplishments.
  • Empowering Education: Avinashilingam Institute continues to lead in providing quality education and promoting women’s empowerment in technical fields.
