Tensions escalated in Noida as thousands of workers protested in various locations across the district, with around 42,000 workers gathering at 83 spots, as confirmed by Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh. While most demonstrations were peaceful, incidents of violence occurred at two locations. Authorities resorted to minimal force to disperse the crowds, resulting in over 200 arrests. Additionally, FIRs were filed against social media accounts accused of spreading misinformation and instigating unrest.

A significant number of protests were resolved through dialogue and persuasion at 78 locations, with workers dispersing amicably after discussions. However, officials noted attempts by outsiders to incite violence and disrupt the peaceful protests, labeling it as a premeditated conspiracy. The identified individuals involved in such activities are facing legal action.

A committee appointed by the Uttar Pradesh government engaged with representatives at the Greater Noida authority office to address the grievances of the workers. Singh emphasized that false information circulated through specific social media accounts had caused panic among workers at certain sites. Urging for calm, she highlighted that most demands had been addressed, with negotiations resolving four out of five key issues. Accepted demands included double wages for overtime and the establishment of POSH committees to handle workplace harassment complaints, especially for female workers.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have called for all parties to seek resolutions through peaceful dialogue.
