Yemen’s Houthi group announced a joint military operation targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport and other key military sites using a ballistic missile and multiple drones. The operation, as stated by Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea on al-Masirah television, involved collaboration with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Iranian army, and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israeli authorities have not yet confirmed the strikes.
The Houthis initiated missile and drone attacks against Israel on March 28 in solidarity with allied forces in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Controlling Sanaa and much of northern Yemen since late 2014, the group had previously supported Iran during a conflict with the United States and Israel last year. On Thursday, the Houthis declared a fourth wave of coordinated ballistic missile attacks on Israel, part of a broader regional confrontation with allied forces.
In a statement aired on al-Masirah television, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea disclosed a joint operation with Iran and Hezbollah targeting “vital enemy targets” in Israel’s Jaffa area. Sarea emphasized a gradual military intervention in the ongoing battle, pledging continued responses based on ground developments. The missile attacks signify ongoing support for allied forces in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine amidst escalating tensions in the region.
