Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently unveiled the refurbished Bharatendu Natya Akademi complex in Lucknow. The complex now features two modern auditoriums and saw the recognition of artists and alumni. Adityanath also launched a magazine named Rangved and attended the ‘Golden Jubilee Theatre Festival’ where he witnessed a theatrical performance based on the novel Anandamath.
The event marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Bharatendu Natya Akademi, a hub for promoting art and culture. During the ceremony, Dr. Ratishankar Tripathi, the Chairman of the academy, welcomed the Chief Minister with traditional attire and a memento. Additionally, a touching moment occurred when a young girl sought Adityanath’s blessings and received encouragement to excel in her studies.
Notable artists and alumni, including individuals like Kiran Bisaria and Padma Shri awardees, were honored by the Chief Minister. Yogi Adityanath also shared photos of the Golden Jubilee celebrations on social media, expressing his appreciation for the academy’s contributions to society through theater. He paid tribute to Raj Bisaria and extended his best wishes for the academy’s continued success.
