Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Congress and AIUDF during his campaign for NDA candidate Deepak Kumar Das in Assam’s Barpeta. He emphasized that the BJP-led alliance is determined to prevent Assam from becoming a hub of “love jihad” or “land jihad.” Adityanath accused the Congress and AIUDF of supporting illegal infiltration and trying to change Assam’s demographic makeup for political advantages.
The Chief Minister assured that the NDA is committed to safeguarding Assam from infiltration, vowing to identify and remove every infiltrator. He stressed the importance of preserving Assam’s cultural identity while promoting development under the “double-engine government” of PM Modi and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Adityanath also praised Assam’s cultural and spiritual heritage, mentioning landmarks like the Kamakhya Temple and Kaziranga National Park.
During his address, Adityanath criticized the Congress for allegedly neglecting India’s heritage and limiting prestigious awards like the Bharat Ratna to a single political family. He highlighted the delayed recognition of cultural icon Bhupen Hazarika with the Bharat Ratna in 2019 under the NDA government. Adityanath pointed out the progress in infrastructure development in the Northeast, including the expansion of roads, railways, airports, and educational institutions.
Yogi Adityanath compared the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh under BJP rule, claiming the state is now free from riots and curfews due to stringent law enforcement and governance reforms. He urged voters to support the NDA for continued progress, security, and the preservation of Assam’s cultural heritage.
